Third-party libraries and utilities are required to use some optional features of GridLAB-D. A compiler is required to use the PLC code insertion feature. On Linux, GCC is sufficient for this. On Windows the Mingw compiler is required. If you intend to run model files that are in XML, the xerces libraries are required.
GridLAB-D accepts model files written in its own native format (.glm) as well as an XML format. If you intend to run model files written in XML, the Xerces Parser is required. Linux users should use their distribution package management system to obtain the correct version.
GridLAB-D Binary Executables. The following downloads include the GridLAB-D runtime executable and example model files written in the native .glm format. This is the only download required to run an example model in GridLAB-D:
- GridLAB-D 1.2.675 32-bit Windows (Executable Installer 2.3MB)
- GridLAB-D 1.2.675 64-bit Windows (Executable Installer 2.4MB)
- GridLAB-D 1.2.675 Linux Distribution (Archive 467KB)
Some GridLAB-D modules allow simulation of programmable logic controllers (PLCs). A compiler is required to use the PLC code. On 32-bit Windows the MinGW compiler is required. PLC code is untested on 64-bit Windows.
- MinGW 32-bit Windows Version 5.1.3
